ON TOUR: Bubblegum Alley (Day 3)

Finally, continuing on with my West Coast Tour stories... Day 3 of traveling with my lady love, Amanda Shires, landed us in a little place called San Luis Obispo. Load in was mega early, so I had some time to wander around. I didn't have to take many steps to find this treasure, Bubble Gum Alley. It actually dates back quite a few decades, however it's exact beginnings are a little fuzzy.

Of course that amount of bubblegum in one location is rad, but then I noticed that people started leaving behind their memories through photos and handwritten notes and I was overwhelmed with excitement. I told Pearl (Amanda) and Caitlin that we had to leave our own notes!

Pearl totally made fun of me for leaving this note behind, but I didn't care, I was missing my fella. AND we were sending love notes to each other everyday while I was gone. See post here.

Hello! I know I haven't officially introduced my boyfrann (maybe you saw this rad video of him), but I still wanted to share our 'Love Notes' post with you. 

Thanksgiving 2011

Above are love notes/drawings we sent to each other while I was traveling on the West Coast a while back. We started sending drawings to each other via text message after the first few dates as a sort of 'good morning' and it always made my day. I have tons of them saved on my phone to share with you, although, I am a little hesitant because Korey's are 100 x's better than mine...

the world needs more love notes.

This boy deserves all the love in the world. When we started dating he would leave me post its everywhere. It's one of our love languages.  I would get home from work and there would be a trail of love notes. We would hide lil notes too( under pillows, in car, suitcase). When one of us was out of town we would find notes in our luggage, or we would leave them in the bathroom so one would see it first thing in the a.m. This year we slacked off a little so when I found this mailbox at a thrift store i had to get it! I spray painted it a pale blue color and put it on Jacobs desk.  I had a plan for it. But before I could write the first love note for Jacob.... I saw the little red flag was up. SHOOT! He beat me to it.
 Its been super fun getting creative with different ways that say "i love you." It makes the heart skip a beat, get butterflies in your tummy and have perma grin for the rest of the day. It really makes things magical, new, and fresh!

this is the note i left him today( polaroid and labels). I encourage you to leave more love notes too, for  your coworkers, friends, family.... Write them for someone you really appreciate, love, like. (tell  your cleaning lady how great of a job she does!)  If your people live far away send a  postcard. I love getting postcards in the mail. Just spread the love. Im telling you it's contagious!
