The only thing I ask when we go visit our framily (friends + family) in California is that we watch the sunset at least once. They are walking distance from the beach so there really is no reason why we shouldn't every night. Sometimes we make dinner on the grill, sit around a bonfire, take some wine, bring a bag of snacks, whatever I just want to watch the sun go to bed. The colors that appear across the sky, the sounds of the ocean. It's calming, it's consistent, and it's beautiful.
I love that I just discovered iMovie being on my iPhone. Lately Jacob and I haven't been watching TV during the week so we have been a lot more productive. I actually had time to go through old photos, delete bad ones, and play around on iMovie. How did I not know this was on my iPhone? Now a year later I can start working on our Costa Rica video. I think it's like going back to those exact moments and having fun all over again. Hope you enjoy or that this sparks up some desire for you to go see these places for yourself. Photos and videos just don't capture it quite the same.
During our visit to Joshua Tree we really wanted to camp but they were not allowing fires and personally I think camping without a fire is lame. S'mores, whiskey, and late night hangs around the fire are the best! It all worked out though thanks to Hicksville Trailer Palace, we got our S'mores, Whiskey, Fire, and Glamping on with strangers. Even though we didn't camp we still went to Joshua Tree National Park to do some hiking. Funny thing, right when we pulled in we looked over to the left and my friend Jaime, from Ax and Apple was right there! I hadn't seen her since our Girls Marfa trip 2 years back. Crazy how we keep hanging out in the desert...or not crazy at all.
Tip /// Don't play catch with the little broken off Cacti balls. Jacob learned the hard way...HA!
