During our #LisenbesinCalifornia adventure I knew we had to make it to Joshua Tree, it was on my long list of places I wanted us to experience. There was no set plans on this trip except to pick up my new (Aryseco) surfboard and to see our California Framily, that was not a typo but a word that explains the friends who become family. We only had 10 days to explore places in California that we've never been before. Jacob and I flew in to San Diego then rented a car on Day 1. On Day 6 we made the long haul to Joshua Tree, and with the recommendation from friends on Instagram we made a reservation at Hicksville Trailer Palace. Can I just say this is one of the main reasons I love instagram, I mean we wouldn't of found this place on our own... in the middle of the desert...on our long drive. So worth it. Since we went during the week it was very chill and only two other trailers were rented out. During the weekends I think it's a whole other story. Just take that into consideration when booking. I loved everything about this place! The Juke Box had an awesome selection, the roof top Hot Tub had a perfect view, and I love that they stamp and send off your postcards to loved ones. We would of stayed a lot longer and told our framily to come meet us except that the place was already rented out. We are totally coming back here with our group in the near future.

I was talking about needing a new bikini while visiting friends in Encinitas and they mentioned their friend had a shop that I had to check out... I had no idea they were talking about Issa De Mar suits! I have been pinning these suits for quite some time. I am in love with how simple but unique this brand is. I'm always a fan of less fabric on the rear, sexy one peices, and suits that actually flatter your body type. It was a lot of fun trying on suits while making a new friend. If you are in the Encinitas area drop by, say hi to Mel for me, and get some new suits. If you are not in the area and what to shop CLICK HERE  /// I'm obsessed with the 2015 Hono, Sola, Poema tops and all the bottoms!

NASHVILLE, TN /// Parlour & Juke

This past weekend, I finally got my butt over to Parlour & Juke salon and barber shop. What an experience! My best pal has been with Owner/Stylist Cali Devaney since before this dream became a reality, so I've been hearing about it's greatness for some time now. Being the hair junky that I am, I've been dying to see Cali in action and check out the rad salon I've heard so much about. It was perfect. They also carry a few of my favorite product lines, including Kevin Murphy and Oribe. The staff, the vibe, the tunes, the design, the work... everything down to the smallest detail made this environment an experience.
Note: A few P&J stylists book out months in advance, so do your research and plan your appointments accordingly :)

What salon in your city do you always recommend? What makes that experience a good one? We'd love to check it out next time we visit.
