WEEKEND

Last night Josephine, Taylor, and I headed to the Stash Co. Factory for a private living room show with Will Johnson. I had never been to a living room show with such _______ surroundings. Every time I am at the Stash Co. factory it inspires me in a completely different way. I just love that place so much and I get a little choked up when I think about Kelly getting to work at such an amazing company with people with hearts of Gold. I feel like she really found a place where she belongs.



But back to the show...There is no better feeling than sitting around a room full of awesome people all wanting to hear some sweet tunes. It was perfect and just the kind of night I needed. The lights, all the colors, and Will's raw voice that encouraged a sing-a-long was the highlight of my night, or ...was it Cheryl's Gourmet sandwiches in my belly. That's a tough one... I highly suggest you check out Will's music, I hadn't heard him live before but I'm glad I got to.

I will definitely be going to the Stash factory next week to buy some goodies. I want an Apron to wear at the salon and I have my eye on some other bags. The question is buy one for Jacob or myself???

Then I got a text from my main squeeze saying he was back in town so we headed to The Montrose to have a night Cap with him. Isn't he cute?

AROUND (Y)OUR TOWN: Austin, Tx (Shows, Shops and Stuff For Your Bellies)

Hola! John Korey and I made it back from our anniversary trip to Austin just as Brandi and Jacob were taking off for Austin. Now I'm doing the whole catch up game before Houston Blogger Symposium this weekend. Any of you ladies going? We're stoked to meet everyone!

Austin was amazing. John Korey and I decided to stay away (or try to) from the things we normally do and thanks to Tate, Zane and Ashley, we found some neat places around town. We couldn't help revisiting a few of our Austin favorites too. 

Shows: Whip in This place was crazy, in the best way. Friday night we drove straight in to this joint to see Mayeux Broussard play. If you've never heard of them, check 'em out, they play often around the Austin area. We also caught Rosie Flores at White Horse. Incredible. 

Shops: Austin Vintage Guitars, Toy Joy, Bead it (surprisingly all the boys highly recommended this place), Big Bertha's, Buffalo (never been to the Austin location), Uncommon Objects (previously blogged), Stag (previously blogged), Bohemia, New Brohemia (previously blogged), Feathers Boutique (previously blogged), and Proto Type. 

Records stores: Waterloo (duh), Friends of Sound, End of an Ear (previously blogged), and Antone's 

JK and I wanted to shop for clothes, but we ended up leaving town with a fat stack of vinyl instead. Life's tough, ya know? haha...

Food + Drinks: Whip in, Spider House, Black Sheep, Red's Porch (OMG SO GOOD), White Horse, Takoba, Jo's for coffee and a breakfast taco... LOVE, Shangri-La, and Cheer Up Charlies

Overall, it was a badass trip. Thank you Tate, Zane, Taylor, Ashley and Tony for taking us around town, sharing your home and for the awesome feast on Sunday! We'll be back soon.

SEVEN GIRLS HEAD INTO THE DESERT: Last Stop, Balmorhea!

Okay, now it's my turn to share from my (Brandi)  perspective).

As soon as we arrived in Balmorhea, we were ready for a dip! btw, the stretch of land between Marfa and Balmorhea is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.













Check out these Bronzed babes. Some guy came up to us with 6 kids and asked if we would all take a photo with them. Right after he said it was his turn to take a photo with us and posted it on Facebook.

Before it got dark we headed back to set up Camp.



Dinner and Drinks with the bugs. Jo pranked kelly so good with a fake fuzzy spider. She screamed so loud, I thought we'd for sure get kicked out. We were already warned by the park ranger once.

Scary story time? Blair Witch? Kelly and I actually passed out around 1 am before the girls really got crazy and drove into town at the wee hours of night. I also missed their photo session with flashlights and ugly faces. I wanna see those photo's so bad!


The next morning I got up walked around and watched the sunrise. It's not everyday you get to see something so beautiful. I actually had a moment.






I was hoping with all the clicks of my camera someone else would wake up....





I waited til 8 am and announced that the pool was now open! Time to swim girls! This was when some movement started then stopped again.







Kelly and I headed down while the girls got some more beauty sleep, I think they had just gone to bed 2 hours prior. Party Animals...

We were pumped to have the pool and high dive  to ourselves...until we realized JLo and Enrique's Tour guys were all parked on the side watching us jump.


This man (Rick)  later becomes our friend. Kelly described him as a character straight out of Wayne's World. I recognized him instantly. He came up to talk to her when I went back to the tent to wake up all the sleepyheads.

There's Rick! just hanging with the girls. He later wants to jump off the high dive with me and Jo because he was scared. Once we got there we realized he meant at the same time. Oh.

All we got to say is Girl trips never fail me. This one is going down in HISTORY! Kelly and I still bust out laughing when we think about this weekend. We also keep sending each other texts from funny moments that happened. Too many good moments to handle. I mean 7 girls? & crazy girls with strong personalities. We did good. Everyone there was an important piece to this magical weekend. Yes I said Magical ugh. But it was! No other words to describe it.
