Last weekend, there was this little thing called Main St. Block Party and if you live in Houston and didn't go, you're lame. The weather was absolutely perfect. Blue skies, sunny, crisp air with a bit of a chill in the shade...if only everyday could be like that. To top it all off, Brandi and I found a bartender who made amazing bloody marys. The only drink I wanted to put in my belly at 1pm on a Saturday. It was a day full of talented bands and great company and the best tacos any girl could ask for. Out of all the bands I saw, these were the one's that made my day/night.

The Lusitania
I saw this band a few years ago in Lubbock Tx and had attached them to a bad memory (never a good thing), so I never saw them again. When I saw they were playing Main St. Block Party, I figured it was a good time to get over the past and see what they were like. Dang. I should have seen them every chance I had over the past 3 years. They were amazing. Lesson learned, never attach music to bad memories, only the good ones ;)

The Black and White Years
Right after I filled my belly full of delicious tacos, I rushed over to Continental Club and made my way to the front before The Black and White Years set. It was the most fun I've ever had dancing off tacos.

Always a great show. Stay tuned for their new album, Black Blizzard, in late February/March
