OUTFIT OF THE DAY

WEEKEND WEARS

Afterlight

Hat / sunnies / draped jacket / denim / shirt (vintage) / necklace / wedges / jams

For me a solid vintage tee is better than icing on a cake. This particular tee came my brother-in-law's collection. It's an old Petra tee (youth group christian rock days? holla!) and it's broken in just right. You know, just the right amount of holes, thinness, fade, etc... There's a few places in Houston at the top of my list to thrift for old tees including Value Village, Retropolis, Goodwill, and Buffalo Exchange. We also love thrifting in other cities we visit, so if you could tell us your city and hotspots, we'd love to check them out.

ps If you need a dose of inspiration, watch/listen to this :)

Last weekend, Brandi and I got dolled up before joining our lady friends at Roost for a celebratory dinner. I've had this skirt for maybe two years, but always talk myself out of it because I look in the mirror and it's hips hips hips. haha. I know hips are good and all, but I'm still not use to these suckers. The female body is ever-changing and for me, mid-twenties have kind of been like getting slammed with puberty all over again. Any one else?

I combined some items from mine and Brandi's closet and decided to start embracing the hips with this cute skirt. I slightly cheated by wearing a loose shirt over, but a baby step is better than no step. Right now is the perfect time to start embracing those things (personality/physical) about myself that I  feel a little weird or insecure about. If you haven't already, I dare you to start doing the same this weekend.
