Since moving at the beginning of the month, I have been drooling over all the possible directions to take my house. Yesterday, I sat in the middle of my living room for about an hour rearranging all the furniture in my head, solidifying a color/wood/metal scheme and writing out a very detailed list of things to buy, fix, pain, trash, re do... it's a really long list. Then, I spent the rest of the day moving my furniture around and boxing up stuff to donate. I'm trying so hard to have a minimalist mindset this time around. I'm a sentimental packrat at heart, but I must say, it feels great to get rid of so much stuff.

The color scheme was half set for me, so that was easy. My house is primarily white + black so I'm running with it. White, black, light to raw wood, maybe a few plants to splash some color, and shades of (warm) red. All the photos above are what I've pinned to keep me from getting overwhelmed and keep me moving and making progress. Like I said, the list is long... gotta keep moving.

Are you doing anything to your home lately? My first plan of attack is living spaces, garden, and then attic. eeek! Can't wait!

XO,
K

Ps. brandi gets back today (DANG, I've missed her). Get ready to see some amazing photos from Costa Rica!

Brandi got this for me as a house warming gift on Friday while we were at Warrenton. This was her favorite one and she made some comment about Hump Day so...

Cheryl, Paul and Zoe came by the house to drop off my Warrenton purchase and some house warming plants! I love the Stash Family.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend! It's rare for me and Brandi to spend the weekend apart and even more rare for us to spend a holiday apart, but this weekend was a weekend of many firsts... like my first weekend in my new home! My Pops and I spend the entire weekend getting all my stuff from my current room, stuff from my Mom's old house (she's moving too), and the stuff from our family storage unit out and over to my new place. (Another first, first time all my stuff will be under one roof!) We busted our butts vacuuming, scrubbing, bug spraying (yes, I believe in bug spray and if you lived where I just moved, you would too), the whole place. Two things got done, my beds were assembled and the records and record player were unpacked. I started on the kitchen, but that is a whole day in itself. The to-do list is long and intimidating, but I'm totally giddy about this place.

OMG I HEART: Getting Twiggy With It

With Fall just around the corner, i'm craving layers, boots, crazy socks, hats (it's too dang hot for a hat in a Houston Summer) and new home decor trickling in. I've already begun the seasonal home and closet re-organizational frenzy. I have been flipping through pages and pages on the internet looking for  a bit of inspiration and noticed a common thread among photos I was pulling on my desktop. Here are a few of my favorites...

Stick Wall Art  |  I want to make something similar for John Korey's wall once he gets settled into his new home next month. It's just too cute to be washed away at sea. I guess I should start collecting...

Threaded Sticks   |   This reminded me of our bueno bueno friendship bracelets and headbands (back in stock this month with new colors!). Of course, I love them.

White-washed   |   I know painted driftwood is nothing new, but I do enjoy white this white-washed stick. Especially as a jewelry stand. CLICK HERE to see previous post on colorful driftwood.

Neon  Clothing Rack   |    I am absolutely in love with this Clothing Rack. I'm not sure why this doesn't exist in my house already

Bundle of Sticks   |   Clusters of anything are fun. Especially a dark cluster in a white space. Beautiful.

Wired Light Fixture   |   I like the simplicity of this light fixture. The shadows created by the organic lines are wonderful.

Mellow Stick   |   and last, but not least, my absolute favorite, the kind of stick that roasts mellows. I can't wait to get a fire going and roast some Mellows... Perhaps I see a double date in the near future (Brandi, Jacob, me and John Korey). I'm thinking a goodbye summer beach trip :)

Anyone else getting excited about the Fall? I just love transitional seasons, they're always the best. The air is crisp, light layers are a must, good hair days more often, good natural lighting, and the list goes on.

B+K
